My Love For Hats!

So today I thought I would share with you my one true love, hats! You can wear hats whatever the weather, whether it be a snug beany in the winter or a sun hat in the summer. You also hate 'occasional' hats such as silly animal hat for fancy dress or a top hat. I have the luck of suiting hats, as well as any hair colour!
One thing I love doing is wearing a plain outfit and brightening it up with a hat, jewellery and matching nails!

You also have the other side of it, what do you think of men in hats? I see a lot of teens in snapbacks (caps) and beanies, I just love a guy in a beanie! And at what age should men stop wearing hats? We've all seen that 50 year old trying to look cool in a snapback with 'SWAG' on.

So how do you feel about hats, on both men and women? Let me know!

Staying Strong

So today I thought I would do a review post, but not like the ones you usually see. I have been feeling down in the dumps recently and one thing that has really kept me going is the book Staying Strong by Demi Lovato. It has a page for every day of the year, with a quote, a paragraph and a goal. The quotes were all sent in by fans, some are famous quotes and others are just simple little ones people have come up with.

So I am going to show you a few examples of some of the days, every one is different which just makes this book better. I asked you all on twitter to send me a random date, as I didn't want to pick my favourite ones or the ones with the best quotes as I don't think that would be a completely true representation of the book.

This is the book, I bought it for about £10 on amazon (I am sure you could find it cheaper) it also has lots of pretty swallows in which look like my tattoo which make me happy, haha!

Here are some of the dates you sent me!

May 14th : 'Change is never painful, only the resistance to change is painful' - Buddha.
Change is a part of life and there's no way of getting around it. So accept the your life will be filled with all kinds of change, and even though it can sometimes feel uncomfortable, it's what builds out character and keeps us moving forward.
GOAL: Embrace the changes going on in your life whether they're positive or negative. They're all moving you forward and starting a new chapter in your life comes with change. It's okay to be thankful for blessings.

June 12th : 'It is not in the stars to hold out destiny but in ourselves' - William Shakespeare.
We always have choices in life. we make out opportunities, and we must find it in ourselves to achieve our destiny. We never really know what we can do or achieve unless we try.
GOAL: Stop leaving something important up to chance. Take control of it, and create the outcome you want.

June 19th : ' With pain, suffering, and grief come many opportunities to grow and change as long as we stay open.'
When your faith and strength are challenged, you have the most incredible opportunity to grow. It's up to you what you make of it. I've made a vow to myself that when times are difficult I will reach out for help and embrace that part of my journey with an open mind. I know that these obstacles are a way to become stronger and develop my faith, but I can't do it without staying open to receiving help from others.
GOAL: If you are dealing with something painful, stay open-minded and ask for help. You never need to face anything alone - there are so many resources available to help.

October 1st : 'We can't control all in life . . . but what we can do is look ahead and dictate where we go next.'
Life will bring you every kind of emotion and experience you can thing of, and plenty that you'd never even imagine. I try to take everything that comes to me with gratitude. Life is about not knowing and making the best of any situation.
GOAL: Thing about something wonderful that lies ahead for you.

So I am only going to show you those four as it seems like a lot to read, and I don't want to over load you with words. But as I said, this book helps me every single day. And knowing that whatever you are going through, there is always someone going through the same thing. Knowing that celebrities, such as Demi and Zoella have problems such as Depression and Anxiety, things I suffer with myself, gave me the confidence to start my blog. So never ever feel alone. The book title came from her 'Stay Strong' tattoos which was something all her fans kept saying to her while she was at rehab. It is also something I tell myself when I am sad or things seem too much.

Thank you so much for reading this post, and for all the supportive people and followers I have.

No7 Illuminated Make-Up Mirror

So I have wanted one of these mirrors for ages, however £50 on a mirror was just never going to happen as I don't have that kind of money. So when I saw them on half price, I knew I had to get one. I was in Canterbury at the time, and the mirror is the same size as my suitcase so I knew I couldn't buy it, I called my mom straight away and she ran straight to boots and got the last one in the store! So after a week or so of using it, I thought it was finally time to do a review. I like to keep my reviews honest, hence why I wanted to wait at least a week to see if I personally thought it was worth the money.
So yes, it is just a mirror with a light, one side normal, one side 5x, however I have found the 5x side AMAZING, using this side means I can make my make up (near enough) perfect when putting it on as I can see so close up, I can deal with spots a lot quicker - I have compared my skin from my normal mirror to this one and suddenly 5 spots appear! So I can tackle them quicker so they don't turn into huge second faces, and it is fab for doing my eye brows as I can see all the little buggars that usually hide from me! The light is super bright, but not so much that it hurts your eyes, so it gives you a true representation of how you look, I really cried when I saw how terrible my skin really was!
But then you also have to think, can you really spend £50 on a mirror? Personally, even thought I adore this mirror and think it is probably the best thing I have ever bought, I wouldn't of spent £50, that is just way too out of my budget. £25 on a mirror was crazy for me, but after using it I am so so happy I spent that money.
I know I am kind of sending mixed messages here, haha! But basically I would say yes it is worth getting but only if you have the money to spend.
I would say shop around, I have seen some for sale on ebay for around £25, and for that money I would definitely say go for it, you (hopefully) won't regret it, haha! I think it is still on offer now for £25 in boots and online!

Do you have this mirror, or always wanted it? Let me know!

(( I really shouldn't have to say this, but this was not a sponsored post (blah blah blah) and all views are my own. I would always tell you at the start of a post if it was sponsored and I would never tell you I liked something that I didn't because I don't think that is fair at all. ))

Earth Hour

Earth Hour is tonight! If you don't know what it is, here is good old Wikipedia to explain it to you! 'Earth Hour is a worldwide movement for the planet organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). Earth Hour engages a massive mainstream community on a broad range of environmental issues. It was famously started as a lights-off event in Sydney, Australia in 2007. Since then it has grown to engage more than 7000 cities and towns worldwide, and the one-hour event continues to remain the key driver of the now larger movement. The event is held worldwide and held towards the end of March annually, encouraging individuals, communities, households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights for one hour as a symbol for their commitment to the planet. Earth Hour 2013 was celebrated on March 23, 2013. Earth Hour 2014 is scheduled for Saturday, March 29, from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. during participants' local time.'

Personally, I had never heard of this, but this year it seem everyone is talking about it! I think it has it's pro's and cons, obviously the pro is pretty clear, it saves electricity, proves you do not need it on all the time, shows that people want to make a movement and makes other people aware of it. However I don't think people have really thought of the cons, so me and my mom's boyfriend were talking about it yesterday and he was saying all the electrical (storage thingy's? I cannot remember for the life of me what they are called) basically they will all go crazy due to the fact they are making so much energy but none of it will be used because most people will be using no electricity in that hour, so they will all go crazy then the electricity will go down. And also people need to remember that a lot of people can't take part in this. I am going to try my best but I am actually really really scared of the dark (I know I am 20, I really need to grow up) but people with young children or children who go to bed around 8.30/9pm can't do this with no lighting. My mom was saying 'we can just light candles, it will be cool' well I don't see this as an option due to the fact I have a cat, and I don't see it being very safe sitting in the dark with candles and not knowing where my cat is (I don't want my kitty on fire). I will be out babysitting my two nephews when this is happening, so as I said, I am going to try it but being in a house I don't know too well with two little ones may not happen as well as planned!

But enough about what I think, I want to know what you think! Either leave a comment or tweet me at @bexrenshaw and let me know your views on Earth Hour and if you are doing it or not!

Tattoo's and Piercings

First of all, I am so sorry for being away for over a week, I finally have my laptop back and I am hoping it stays that way!
So I want to know your opinions on Tattoo's and Piercings!
Personally, as most of you know, I love both, but not always. I have both tattoo's and piercings, but the quality difference is just crazy. I had 3 of them done at studio's and one done at some guy's house, this one is obviously a lot worse than the rest, the lines are wonky and it just isn't as perfected as the others.
But I still love it, same with all my others, because they all have meaning to me.
My piercings, to me, don't really have meaning, they are just something I fancied. Most hold memories, like my rook I got done with a friend when we went to stay with my dad for the weekend, and both my 3rd's were done by Dave (with a lot of go on do it NO DONT just do it NO PLEASE DONT from me!)
But I do get a lot of horrible looks sometimes because I have a nose ring and pink hair people - especially older people, think I will be horrible. I obviously do my best to prove them wrong, I am a very polite person anyway and it does shock a lot of people when I say nice things because OBVIOUSLY I am a horrible person because I have piercings and tattoos!
The one thing I would say, if you are going to get a tattoo, DO NOT rush into it, find a really good tattooist that you feel comfortable with and make sure you look through their previous art work to make sure they are what you want, and remember it is going to be on your body forever, don't get something stupid (like a hello kitty bex?) that you won't want a few years down the line - yes I have a Hello Kitty tattoo...

Also the same goes for piercings, I have been to some amazing studios, and some not so good. Recently one I have been too was on the news for very nearly killing someone with a dodgy piercing, so I felt lucky. Although I have had my problems, I had my nose pierced and decided I wanted a ring in for a party (I was dressed as Ke$ha, I just had to have a nose ring) and then I went to change it back to a stud and it wouldn't go back in, so I went down to my local studio for help etc, so the next morning I woke up with no stud in my nose, confused I checked my bed and floor etc, and then I realised, it was inside my nose... the piercer had pulled it too tightly and it had got sucked in, so up to a&e I go, rushed in for emergency surgery, had my face chopped up and it was out. I still have the scar, and yes I went and got the other side pierced but I ALWAYS wear a ring now, hence all the fights I have with management at different places at work because I refuse to put a stud in.
So there is my little horror story, always check out the place you are going for piercings or tattoos, because you could be putting your life at risk.

Let me know how you feel about tattoos and piercings, and if you have any of your own horror stories you wish to share!
